Serge Ely Dibakou
Immuno-ecologist, I'm interested in host-parasite interactions and the role of immunocompetence in the evolution of mammalian life-history traits.
More specifically, I work on : (i) the identification and development of easy-to-use techniques to help characterize the immune system in the wild and in captivity, (ii) the morphological and molecular characterization of potentially zoonotic parasites, (iii) the study of the molecular mechanisms of the immune response, and finally, (iv) the study of the links between the various determinants of immunocompetence.
My current work involves studying individual variations in immunity and patterns of co-infection (notably SIV and gastrointestinal parasites) in wild and semi-free-ranging mandrills.
