Meeting with Bernard Lahire

Sociologist Bernard Lahire, CNRS research director at the Max-Weber Center at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon, will give a seminar on Monday 09/12 at 2pm at the University of Montpellier, Triolet Campus (Salle 36.03). He has been invited by the Anthropologie Evolutive team of the Institut des Sciences de l'Evolution de Montpellier to present his latest book Les structures Fondamentales des Sociétés Humaines' (The Fundamental Structures of Human Societies)which attempts to identify the major structuring principles of human societies. The book is based in part on evolutionary biology, but also offers an in-depth reflection on the epistemology of the social sciences. Admission is free, and this is a French-language seminar.
