Listen to Alice Baniel's interview as part of the "Mine de Sciences" project: her research topic is primates! 🐒 At the moment, she's studying the gut microbiota of Mandrills in Gabon with the Mandrillus project. To do this, she goes out into the field to collect primate droppings and make behavioral observations. She then compares and analyzes the data to test the effect of socially transmitted microbes on mandrill health. She explains it all here!
The "Mine de sciences" project is a scientific mediation campaign aimed at students, based around a series of videos designed to help them discover the issues and workings of biodiversity and the environment. Through interviews with researchers from various Montpellier laboratories, students can learn about the profession of researcher, the scientific approach to ecology and applied research.
